Household Trash Collection, Recycling, and Composting Information
Effective November 1, 2022, new regulations from MassDEP require that mattresses and box springs be recycled. The Department of Public Works now accepts used mattresses/box springs for a fee of $35 each piece to be recycled by HandUp Mattress Recycling. Residents are responsible for transporting their mattresses/box springs to the DPW and depositing them in the container. Click the link below to schedule drop-off and pay the fee.
Household trash/recycling cannot be curbside prior to noon on the day before your scheduled collection day.
Leave trash and recycling at least 10 feet away from mailboxes with the lid opening facing the street.

Payment for the drop off of bulk items for disposal and/or electronics recycling at the DPW is now processed through City Hall Systems.
