Indigenous Peoples' Day Event 2023

The Town of Sharon celebrated Indigenous People’s Day Oct. 9 with events sponsored by the Sharon’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, the Unitarian Church of Sharon and the Sharon Racial Equity Alliance.

The day began with an Indigenous People’s Day Proclamation read by the Sharon Select Board at the Town Offices at 90 S. Main St.

In the afternoon, Darius Coombs, cultural outreach coordinator for the Mashpee Wampanoag Education Department, was guest speaker at the Unitarian Church of Sharon.
