Voters pass all articles at Nov. 30 Special Town Meeting

Special Town Meeting Recap

Special Town Meeting convened on Nov. 30 at Sharon High School.

The following articles all passed:

  • ARTICLE 1: Appropriated $36,837,710 for financing improvements to the water treatment facility, including but not limited to, addressing excessive levels of PFAS and other contaminants identified in various wells.
    Required a two-thirds vote. Passed 264-51.
  • ARTICLE 2: Authorized a long-term lease for Well No. 5 Solar Project.
    Required a two-thirds vote.
  • ARTICLE 3: Accepted Weyman Lane and Atherton Lane as public roadways.
    Required two-thirds vote.
  • ARTICLE 4: Increased the authorized term of an Intermunicipal Sewer Agreement with the Town of Foxborough.
  • ARTICLE 5: Amended the zoning bylaw. The proposed changes pertained largely to the regulations applicable within Business District D, which encompasses the Sharon Gallery development.
    Required two-thirds vote.
  • ARTICLE 6: Amended expenditure limit for the Solid Waste and Recycling Revolving Fund.
  • ARTICLE 7: Amended expenditure limit for Health Department Revolving Fund
