Sharon, State police arrest son in November murder

Sharon Police Department

A Norfolk County grand jury has issued a first-degree murder indictment for the son of a Sharon man found dead in his Deerfield Road home on Nov. 2, 2023, according to Sharon Police Chief Stephen Coffey and Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.

"Lucas Larson has been hospitalized since his father, Brad Larson, 62, was found deceased in his home,” District Attorney Morrissey said. “State Police detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Sharon Police have been working closely throughout the grand jury investigation that resulted in the indictment issued Wednesday.”

Lucas Larson, 17, of Sharon, was placed under arrest this morning and will be arraigned on the single count of murder at 2 p.m. in the Norfolk Superior Court on Friday, February 2, 2024.

“Sharon Police have proven to be excellent partners during this investigation, and I appreciate their hard work and professionalism,” District Attorney Morrissey said. “Assistant District Attorney Peggie Krippendorf brought the case through the grand jury and has been assigned as trial attorney.”

“Brad Larson was a well-known and much respected member of the Sharon community,” Chief Coffey said. “The Sharon police will continue working with the District Attorney’s office as the case now moves through the court system. As a department, we offer our sincere condolences to Brad Larson’s family and the many residents touched by his death.”

Morrissey said that a limited amount of additional detail might be presented at arraignment.

As with all criminal defendants, Lucas Larson enjoys the legal presumption of innocence in all court proceedings until and unless proven guilty.
