New trees planted at Beech Tree Park

The Town of Sharon Forestry & Grounds Division, the Sustainable Sharon Coalition (SSC) and the SSC Youth Committee celebrated Arbor Day by planting the trees as well as removing the invasive plants.

Two red maples and two river birches were planted along the boardwalk/bridge between Beech Tree Park and the boat launch parking lot.

One tree will be dedicated to Nancy Fyler, recipient of the SSC’s 2024 Lynn Wolbarst Sustainability Award. Fyler is the outreach and communications director at Neponset River Watershed Association (NepRWA).

National Arbor Day, a day of observance when individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees, is officially Friday, April 26.
