Sergeant George Demeris with K9 Buck

Sharon Police Department K9 Buck has retired.

Buck served the Town of Sharon for five years. He was always on call and ready at a moment’s notice.

Buck has worked events such as the Boston Marathon, Sharon's July 3rd celebration and countless other events around the area. Surrounding communities have also used Buck when needed.

Buck's handler, Sergeant George Demeris, worked tirelessly to get a K9 program at the Sharon Police Department and the department could not have gotten a better first dog than Buck.

Sgt. Demeris kept Buck's skills in tracking and explosives detection in peak form through thousands of hours of training and dedication.

Sgt. Demeris also worked on a transition plan to get the department another K9 to serve Sharon.

The Sharon Police Department would like to introduce its new K9, Benny. Officer Lenny Then is Benny's handler. They just completed 14 weeks of K9 Academy training and you will be seeing them on the road now.
