One Book, One Town Sharon and the Commission on Disabilities are co-sponsoring an autobiographical play by David Harrell. David is an award-winning actor who was born without his right hand. His play is called Navigating a Two-Handed World…Single-Handedly.

David states on his website, www.davidharrellonline.com, “kids in school weren’t very nice to me,” because I wore a prosthetic hook. But, his life changed when he played Captain Hook in the play, Peter Pan. With his prosthetic hook, he was all ready for the part. He always wanted to be a hero! As an actor, he learned how to adapt in many ways, such as changing his voice while playing numerous characters. The hilarious and colorful characters he plays tell a humorous story about his life with only one hand.

David’s solo Zoom performance, which is appropriate for ages 12-100, is going to be on Sunday ( April 10, 2022) at 4:00 pm.
