South Main Street Signalization Project

South Main Street Signalization Project

The South Main Street Signalization Project is underway to add traffic signals, sidewalks and make other improvements on South Main Street providing safer travel for all motorists.

As part of the ongoing development of the Business District D zoning district, expansion of South Main Street and Mechanic Street and new signalization at the Interstate 95 on and off ramps, Old Post Road, Gavins Pond Road and eventually Wolomolopoag Street, will be installed to improve traffic flow and greatly increase motorist safety.  The work also includes the installation of sidewalks in portions of the roadway.

Regular updates on the project can be found at this link and attached at the bottom of this page.

MassDOT approved the roadway work and improvements, which are funded by the development team for the Sharon Gallery development.
