E-bikes available at Community Center, Train Station
There has never been a better time to take up cycling with a fleet of new electric bikes, better known as e-bikes, available at the Sharon Community Center and the Sharon Train Station (Providence side).
The Town of Sharon purchased 20 e-bikes and software thanks to a grant from MassDOT’s Shared Street and Spaces Program.
The program’s goal is to promote ecotourism and healthier lifestyles and to increase recreational opportunities in Sharon.
The e-bikes are accessed and paid for through ANIV, an electric bike and scooter sharing app.
The cost to use an e-bike is 5 cents per minute. For example, an hour ride would cost $3.
The rider must bring a bike helmet.
There are 20 e-bikes, half at the Sharon Community Center at 219 Massapoag Ave. and half at the Sharon Train Station at 1 Upland Road.
The e-bikes have been available since Memorial Day.
