Get To Know Your Town Clerk

Mark Hogan

Hello,

I am Mark Hogan, your Town Clerk and fellow Town of Sharon Resident.  Whether as your Clerk or as the Scoutmaster of Troop 164, Sharon, I truly enjoy serving our community.  Amongst other duties, I oversee our elections, register your dogs, and provide you with your vital records.

In the office, I have the pleasure to work with two great people, Assistant Town Clerk Beth Kourafas and Elections and Registration Secretary Shelley Kahalas.  We serve as your direct link to our town government. Together we find what you need or help you find where you need to go to get it.

I am dedicated to performing my job to the highest standards.  I have earned the Certified Massachusetts Municipal Clerk (CMMC) certification from the Massachusetts Town Clerks’ Association and the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) certification from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. I am actively working towards the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) certification.

Before being elected as your Town Clerk, I had the pleasure of serving you as Constituent Services Director for State Senator James E. Timilty, and then as Legislative Director for State Representative Louis L. Kafka.

Like many residents, my wife Elizabeth and I chose Sharon to raise our family because of our excellent school system, friendly community, and beautiful natural resources.  When I am not in the office, you can likely find me at a town event or hiking at Moose Hill with my children, Seamus and Chana.

I am here to help, so if you need anything, do not hesitate to stop by the office, call, or send me an email.  If you see me around town or out for a hike please feel free to say hello.

Your Town Clerk,
Mark F. Hogan, CMC/CMMC
