Well-being is defined as the state of being comfortable, healthy or happy.  Promoting health and  well-being is one of the overriding goals of public health.

Are you concerned about yourself or a loved one? You can check your well-being through a free, online screening (click above)- it's quick and anonymous.

This on-line screening/resource platform is through MindWise  and is available to residents of Sharon, is anonymous and available 24/7 from a link above or the link on the Sharon Health Department webpage. The screening takes 3-5 minutes, is easily used by all ages, including teens/tweens and can be used by parents of younger children who have concern. The screening provides immediate feedback with on-line, national, regional and local resource options.  The resource options were specifically developed for our town and cover the on-line, via telephone and in person options.

As many screenings can be taken as you want- your choice! Focus areas include screenings for:

SSPARC MISSION
“The Sharon Substance Prevention and Resource Coalition works to reduce the demand and use of drugs and alcohol by working collaboratively to promote and sustain a healthy community, utilizing evidence-based data to enhance education, encourage prevention, and provide access to resources for all.”

Background of SSPARC

The Sharon Substance Prevention and Resource Coalition (SSPARC) observed its 9th anniversary in March 2023.  This active coalition was established to address the ongoing drug and alcohol abuse and the increased use of opioids such as heroin in the community.  This is a community wide problem and we need everyone’s help to combat this wide spread epidemic.

Just what is SSPARC? The coalition is comprised of parents, former students and community members, representatives from the schools, police, fire, COA and health departments as well as the Norfolk County DA’s office. Its mission “works to reduce the demand and use of drugs and alcohol by working collaboratively to promote and sustain a healthy community, utilizing evidence-based data to enhance education, encourage prevention, and to provide access to resources for all.”

COMMUNITY RISK ASSESSMENT SURVEY

This survey will help us guide and implement needed necessary programming and supports for the residents of Sharon over the next 2-5 years. PLEASE tell your friends and family! We want all voices to be heard.

Opened 3/8/23 and will remain open until 4/17/23 at 5 PM

The Sharon Substance Prevention and Resource Coalition (SSPARC) is conducting a community-wide survey on mental health and substance use.  As part of this anonymous survey, SSPARC is interested in your perspectives on these issues in the Town of Sharon. The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete and your responses will remain both anonymous and confidential. The ideal participants for this survey are individuals of high school age or older that are residents of the Town of Sharon. However, others who work in the Town of Sharon or those who live in nearby neighborhoods outside of the Town of Sharon are also encouraged to participate. Results will be aggregated, analyzed independently by someone from outside the Sharon community, and will not be linked to any individual survey respondent.

You can access the survey directly via the following web link or on your mobile device by using the QR Code:
