Do you have to be a registered voter to attend and participate at town meetings?

Any resident of Sharon may attend the Annual Town Meeting and Special Town Meetings, but only registered voters may speak in an open Town Meeting. Non-voters may speak at the discretion of the moderator. As a voice vote is customary at Sharon's Town Meetings, the non-registered residents are seated in a separate section of the auditorium where the meeting takes place. If you are not a registered voter and would like to attend the Annual Town Meeting or Special Town Meetings, please call the Town Clerk's Office.
