August 25th update
The town of Sharon has had mosquitos positive for West Nile Virus for the last 2 weeks (data on Health Department web page). The Norfolk County Mosquito Control will be spraying any evening from dusk to midnight throughout town. If you would like your property excluded, please see guidance on Health Department web page. This is a great time to use insect repellent, wear covering clothing and check for standing water.
A mosquito sampling from 8/3/2021 during weekly testing returned a positive for West Nile Virus. Communities surrounding us have positive samples as well. This is a good time to begin being cautious and following enhanced prevention. Highlights include: using insect repellent when you go outdoors, wearing clothing that can reduce mosquito bites and being aware of peak mosquito hours from dusk to dawn. Details can be found on the Town of Sharon Website or Mass.gov
