Governance Study Committee

Dear Fellow Sharonite,

We need your help to think about town government.

The Sharon Governance Study Committee was formed last year to look at the structure of town government and to suggest ways it could be strengthened and improved. The Select Board asked us to dig into a number of topics, including whether to:

• Keep, tweak or replace our town meeting form of government.
• Expand the Select Board to five members from three members.
• Change some elected offices to appointed ones.

To do our job, we need your input.

Our committee will hold its first public forum on Tuesday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sharon Community Center Ballroom and via Zoom. To attend the meeting remotely, go to https://zoom.us/j/6619331292?pwd=akFmV1A3RklXeEhyamlHeG5tRVdzZz09.

The forum will be a listening session. We want to hear from members of the community.  This is an opportunity for you to tell us what works or does not work in town government and offer your suggestions for improvement.

You can also help by spreading the word for us by inviting members of your organization to attend in person or via Zoom.
