What is the targeted lake level in the summer?

The management policy specifies trying to maintain a lake water level of 10.5 feet between May 15 and October 1. However, achievement of this water level depends on a number of factors including groundwater and surface water flow into the lake, precipitation, and evaporation. In addition, lake management practices, such as increasing the water discharged from the lake (1) when the lake water temperature exceeds 80 degrees or (2) to flush accumulated debris and algae from the beachfront, may result in an accelerated lowering of the lake level. The lake level typically drops more than a foot between May 15 and September 15.
