Since September of 2011 there have been housebreaks on South Walpole Street, Billings Street, Capen Hill Road, North Main, East Street, Moose Hill Street, and Pine Steet. These housebreaks have generally been occurring later in the week with some during the evening hours when no one is home. Items being taken mainly consist of jewelry, laptop computers and televisions. Residents are asked to immediately report any suspicious activity (people or vehicles) or pertinent information to the Sharon Police Department at 784-1588
The Sharon Police Department will provide free firearm safety locks to local residents through a partnership with Project ChildSafe, a nationwide firearms safety education program. Free gun locks will be available at any time at the Police Department to any person who provides a valid pistol permit or FID card. Up to three gun locks will be given to each resident.
