The Sharon Public Health Dept. is now accepting applications from those residents who qualify for town-sponsored rubbish pickup under the following guidelines for the 2010-2011 season, which begins July 1st, 2011:
1. Residents must be 60 years of age or over AND demonstrate financial need as follows:
Single resident: Maximum income of $1956/month
2 Person Household: Maximum income of $2440/month
OR
2. Applicants under the age of 60 must be disabled (legal verification MUST be provided with EACH application), AND with household income within the same levels listed above.
Verification of income MUST be provided (including social security; pensions or other retirement income; interest; dividends; last year's income tax forms....if you are not required to file income taxes, you MUST include a signed statement to that effect.)
All residents must be able to have trash at curbside for pick-up.
Applications may be obtained at the Public Health office at Town Hall between
8:30 AM - 12 Noon on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays....and are also available on our website at www.townofsharon.net (Click on departments...Board of Health...then scroll down to links.).
Applications will be reviewed by a Special Service Board and notification of acceptance or denial will be handled through the Public Health Office. Residents currently receiving this service MUST REAPPLY for the 2011-2012 service (to be effective July 1, 2011) AND MUST AGAIN PROVIDE VERIFICATION OF INCOME AND DISABILITY (IF APPLICABLE).
