Each Board of Health in the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts is charged with the responsibility of protecting the health of the public by adopting health regulations pursuant to Massachusetts General Law. To fulfill its duties, it must assess the needs of the community and develop, plan, and implement programs which will prevent illness and promote wellness, while enforcing public health laws.
The Health Department is located on the first floor - rear of the Town Office Building. Clinics are provided for blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, as well as immunizations ..

WALK-IN OFFICE HOURS FOR BLOOD PRESSURE AND BLOOD SUGAR SCREENING ARE HELD AT THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFICE IN THE TOWN OFFICE BUILDING, AS FOLLOWS: TUESDAY: 3-5 PM; WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, & FRIDAY: 9AM-10:30AM.
EVENING BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS will be held at the Health Department office at the Town Office Building during walk-in clinics on the following Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM:
2008: September 11, October 23, November 20, and December 11.
IMMUNIZATIONS are provided free of charge - by appointment only:
Tuesday 3-5 PM and Friday 9-10:30 AM....
Polio, MMR, and Hepatitis B for children ages 7 through 18 only;
Hepatitis A for high-risk groups (including overseas travel) : ages 7 and up;
Td for ages 7 and up; (Tdap for ages 11 – 12);
Pneumonia (Pneumovax 23) for age 19 and up.
