PUBLIC NOTICE
Sharon residents may purchase a rain barrel for $50.00. For more information, please call the Department of Public Works at 781-784-1525, ext. 2314. Pick them up at the DPW during regular office hours. Please bring cash or check, made out to “Town of Sharon”, at time of pick up.
Note: Only ONE washer rebate per household. We will need your CREDIT CARD STATEMENT W/ NAME, ADDRESS, & PURCHASE AMOUNT (washer & toilet rebate). Rebates are for TOWN WATER USERS ONLY.
NO DUAL FLUSH TOILETS QUALIFY FOR REBATES.
CURBSIDE HOUSEHOLD TRASH COLLECTION
Household trash must not be put at the curb prior to Noon on the day before your scheduled household trash collection day. There will be NO trash collection on May 30, 2011 (Memorial Day). Your trash collection will be one day later than your regular collection day for that week.
Hours for dumpster use and disposal of metal are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Residents are responsible for unloading items for disposal.
****Allied Waste has asked that residents leave trash and recycling at least 10 feet away from mailboxes with the lid opening facing the street.***
Notice to Residents
There is no curbside leaf and/or yard waste collection in the spring. Leaves and other yard wastes can be deposited at the Farnham Road composting area. Refer to the Sharon Refuse & Recycling calendar (or read below) for dates and times for Farnham Road.
The Farnham Road composting area will be open on May 14, 15, 21, 22, and June 4, 5, 18, and 19 from 11am until 4pm.

RAILROAD PARKING
Railroad parking passes for April 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011 are all SOLD OUT. Passes for July 1, 2011 through September 30, 2011 will go on sale June 1, 2011.
Note: We always encourage residents to purchase their quarterly passes as early as they possibly can due to limited parking spaces.

Don't throw mercury products in the trash- recycle them. It's the law. The Sharon DPW now accepts mercury products at the main DPW office located at 217R South Main Street. Mercury products include such items as thermometers, fluorescent light bulbs, thermostats, flat panel display screens, and button cell batteries. For more information, please visit www.mass.gov/dep or call the Mercury Hotline at 866-9-MERCURY.
Look for a mercury label or Hg symbol on newer products.
