When and how can I apply for a Passport?
The Sharon Town Clerk's Office acts as an acceptance agency to facilitate processing of passport applications.
Applications are accepted Monday-Wednesday 9:00am-4:00pm; Thursday 9:00am-7:00pm; Friday 9:00am-11:30am at the Town Clerk's Office.

How do I obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate, marriage certificate or death certificate?
Birth Certificates:
Certified copies of birth certificates can be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office. Birth certificates are on file for births which occurred in Sharon or for children whose parent(s) were residing in Sharon at the time of the birth.
The fee for a birth certificate is $10.00 per certified copy.
Certified copies of birth certificates can be obtained in person during business hours. To expedite, please call the clerk's office 781-784-1505 and the certificate will be ready upon arrival.
Certified copies of birth certificates can be requested by mail. Please include the following information when requesting by mail: Name of individual at time of birth, date of birth, number of copies requested, self-addressed stamp envelope, appropriate fee ($10.00 for each certified copy) made payable to the Town of Sharon.
Death Certificates:
Death certificates are on file in the Clerk's Office for decedents who were pronounced in the Town of Sharon or who resided in the Town of Sharon at the time of death. Persons who died out of state will not have a record on file in the Town of Sharon
The fee for a death certificate is $10.00 per certified copy.

Certified copies of marriage certificates can be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office. Marriage certificates are on file if the parties filed for the marriage intention in the Town of Sharon.
The fee for a marriage certificate is $25.00 per certified copy.

How do I apply for a Marriage License?
Both parties must appear together to fill out the Intention of Marriage at any Town Clerk's Office during business hours. There is a three day waiting period to obtain the certificate.
The fee to file the Intention of Marriage in Sharon is $25.00.

When Are The Dog Licenses Due And How Do I Register My Dog?
Dog licenses are due January 1 of each year.
Licenses can be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office or by mail. The following documents are necessary to register your dog:
Current rabies certificate
spay/neutered certificate
fee $15.00 spayed/neutered; $20.00 male/female
self-addressed stamped envelope (mail only)
The licensing period is from January 1 - December 31 of each year.
Failure to license by May 31 results in a $25.00 late fee in addition to the license fee;
Failure to license by June 30 results in a $25.00 non-criminal disposition in addition to a $25.00 late fee and license fee.
