Invitation to Bid

Telecommunications

In accordance with bidding procedures of M.G.L. c 149, §44A-44J c193 of the Acts of 2004 and all other applicable laws, the Town of Sharon Standing Building Committee invites sealed bids to provide cabling and equipment for the renovated Sharon Community Center in accordance with contract documents prepared by Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype, Inc.  The Center is presently under construction and requires coordination and cooperation with the base building General Contractor and other trade contractors.  Estimated cost of construction is $275,000.

All parties desiring to submit General Bids must submit with their bids a copy of the Contractor’s certificate of eligibility (DCAM Form CQ 7) and an update statement (DCAM Form CQ 3), in the work category of telecommunications. All general bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a certified, cashier’s of treasurer’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company made payable to the Town of Sharon or a bid bond, in an amount not less than five (5%) of the value of the bid.

Sealed bids will be received at Sharon Town Hall, 90 South Main Street, Town Clerk’s Office until Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 2:00pm, local time, at which all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Hearing Room.  

The bidding documents will be available at the office’s of Bargmann Hendrie +Archetype, Inc. 300 A Street, Boston, MA 617-350-0450 starting March 14, 2007 upon deposit of $50 in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the Town of Sharon.  Bidding documents may be examined at the Office of the Project Manager, by appointment only, Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00pm 121 Lakeview Street, Sharon, MA 02067 781-784-1542. 

The site will be available for inspection on Wednesday, March 21, 2006 at 8AM – 10AM at 219 Massapoag Ave. Please park in beach parking lot on the left hand side of Massapoag Avenue and walk up the hill.  Do not drive to the building.

The Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal for this Contract is 7.4%

The Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation goal for this Contract is 4%.  The Town of Sharon does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, age, physical disability, religion or national origin.

The Town of Sharon reserves the right to reject any or all general bids if it is in the public interest to do so.  No less than the minimum wage rates as set forth in the schedule contained in the contract documents must be paid on this job.
