Notice to Residents
Effective July 1, 2010, the Town of Sharon will convert to single stream automated recycling collection. Residents will be provided with a 95 gallon wheeled cart for all recyclables including glass, plastic, metal & aluminum cans, newspaper, mixed paper, and cardboard. A limited number of 65 gallon carts are available on a first come, first served basis to residents generating a lesser amount of recyclables. Recycling collection will be every two weeks and residents will receive a tote with either a yellow or maroon lid corresponding with the color of their current recycling bin. The wheeled carts will be dropped off to residents during the last week of June. Trash collection will remain the same with a 5 bag/barrel limit per week. An updated refuse and recycling calendar will be mailed to residents prior to July 1, 2010.
