ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

OCTOBER 31, 2008

 

12:15 P.M.   Called meeting to order.  Present: Paula B. Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                     Gorden and Mark Mazur.

 

  1. The Board of Assessors reviewed and discussed the FY2009 Tax Rate Recapitulation Form.  The Board then signed the form.

 

  1. The Board reviewed and then signed several FY2009 Tax Rate Recapitulation

 related documents.

 

  1. The Administrative Assessor then sent the signed forms in to the state to be

reviewed through its Gateway System.

 

  1. The Board read notices from the Appellate Tax Board (ATB) which indicated that they had ruled in favor of the Town on two recent cases.

 

  1. The Board granted a motor vehicle exemption for an individual because she has

the permanent loss of use of her legs.

 

  1. The Board read a letter from the attorney representing  a FY2007 ATB case.  In his letter he accepted our settlement offer and withdrew the case.

 

  1. The Board granted a FY2007 abatement to the owner of parcel 76-11 in

settlement of their ATB case.

 

  1. The Board discussed a fiscal year 2008 ATB case and agreed to make an offer

to settle the case.

 

  1. The Board took the following actions on fiscal year 2009 applications for

exemption for the owners of the following parcels:
