ABOUT US
The Sharon Council on Aging is a Department of the Town of Sharon with a Board appointed by the Selectmen.  The Council is responsible for identifying needs of and educating the community about issues of people over the age of 60, and for providing or linking elders and families with programs that meet their needs.  Most COA programs are free and also available to persons under 60 with disabilities.

The Council on Aging/Senior Center is located at the Sharon Community Center on Lake Massapoag.  The Senior Center is located on the first floor and is handicapped accessible.  We are open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Evening appointments are possible.

Whereas:
                Medical and technological advances have enabled people to live longer, and,

                Living longer should bring enriching and rewarding experiences,
The Sharon Council on Aging’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for its constituency.

The Sharon Council on Aging is organized to:
w educate the community about aging
w promote the independence of elders
w advocate before local government and within the community for the needs of elders
w design, advocate, and/or implement services to meet these needs and coordinate existing services
w identify existing resources, build coalitions within the larger community, and make appropriate referrals
w cooperate with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Area Agency on Aging
