COUNCIL ON AGING – TRANSPORTATION

MEDICAL
Try to schedule appointments between 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. and try to give the COA five business days notice of your appointment.
Schedule of towns/days:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays Norwood, Canton
Tuesdays, Thursdays Stoughton, Brockton
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Sharon
If your doctor is in another location, please call the COA before scheduling to get an idea of when we may be able to accommodate you.
Transportation fees apply to COA vehicles as well as volunteers. Fees will be discussed when you book transportation. If you are unable to afford fees, speak in confidence to Susan Edinger or Norma Simons Fitzgerald before your appointment.
Boston medical appointments: Try to schedule on Mondays or Wednesdays between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon and use Foxfield Taxi (1-800-585-8294). Request transportation through the HESSCO grant. Suggested donation is $25 round trip.
SHOPPING
Tuesdays: afternoons: alternate between Walpole Mall or Norwood Stop & Shop and Westgate Mall, Wal-Mart, or Stoughton Stop & Shop
Wednesdays: mornings: Sharon errands (post office, library, Heights area, etc.)
afternoons: Cobbs Corner area
Fridays: mornings: Sharon errands (post office, library, Heights area, etc.)
Transportation fee for shopping is $1/week.
